Welcoming Staked as an Official Staking Partner — Matic Network

With our staking launch fast approaching, we are committed to building the strongest possible staking ecosystem. Our decentralized network of Validators will be responsible for taking part in our PoS consensus mechanism, producing blocks, and committing checkpoints to the Ethereum mainchain — and will thus play an integral role in ensuring the health of Matic Network.

Therefore, alongside our decentralized network of community-run nodes which are being onboarded during our ongoing Counter Stake initiative, we are also onboarding a series of top-tier industry validators in order to ensure the utmost security and reliability of the network.

Having already announced Stake Capital and stake.fish as official Staking Partners, we are thrilled to reveal that Staked has now joined our ecosystem of industry-leading Validators.

Staked will be contributing to network security by running a Validator node, and will provide staking services for the community by allowing MATIC holders to delegate their tokens to Staked’s node in order to generate a passive income via staking rewards. With their focus on institutional investors, they will provide a trusted MATIC staking option for large players as well as retail investors.

We will also be collaborating closely with Staked to utilize their expertise on staking economics, working with them on testnet event stages, and on outreach to spread awareness of Matic’s staking program.

About Staked

Founded in 2018, Staked has grown to be an industry-leading staking service provider and is backed by investors including 9Yards Capital, Digital Currency Group, Pantera Capital, Republic Labs, and Winklevoss Capital.

The company specializes in providing institutional investors with the technical infrastructure for non-custodial staking and lending services. Clients include top-tier crypto funds, venture capital funds, family offices and hedge funds.

Staked provides validation services for many of the industry’s top Proof-of-Stake blockchains, and pride themselves on their robust infrastructure which ensures maximum uptime and minimal latency. Staked does not compromise on security or reliability.

Building a strong decentralized Validator network

Though we are thrilled to see our staking ecosystem continuing to grow stronger as our staking launch fast approaches, there is more to come. Staking Partner onboarding is still ongoing — many more reputed industry players will be joining as we continue to expand our decentralized network of Validators.

Stay tuned for more exciting updates in the run-up to our staking launch.

Data Availability is Not Data Storage

Recall this grade school experience: you raise your hand and ask, “Can I go to the bathroom?” To which your teacher responds with “I don’t know. Can you?” Might seem far fetched, but this is a perfect entry point to understanding the difference between data availability and data storage. Let's bring this analogy close to […]

The Future is Now for Ethereum Scaling: Introducing Polygon zkEVM

We all know that Ethereum needs to scale, and we at Polygon believe that zero-knowledge (ZK) tech is the most promising pathway to get there. But that path has often seemed as if it would be long and winding. The conventional wisdom has been that the crypto space would need many years to develop Layer […]

Polygon Reaches First Sustainability Milestone by Achieving Network Carbon Neutrality

Polygon has made a major first step toward becoming carbon negative with the retirement of $400,000 in carbon credits representing 104,794 tonnes of greenhouse gasses, or the entirety of the network’s CO2 debt since inception.  The milestone comes after Polygon in mid-April released its Green Manifesto, part of its broader vision for sustainable development. The […]

Polygon Avail Launches on Testnet to Turn Monolithic Chains Modular

If we want the entire world to join Web3, blockchains will need to handle more transactions. Monolithic blockchains can’t scale because they’re asked to perform too many tasks (execution, settlement, and data availability) at once. But if chains were able to focus on just one part of the stack at a time, the entire ecosystem […]

Plonky2 offers two main benefits: incredibly fast proofs and extremely efficient recursive proofs. It’s a huge leap forward for the ZK space, and we’ve been blown away by the response from the developer community: people want to […]
