Instagram users will soon be able to use the site to mint, showcase and sell digital collections powered by non-fungible token (NFTs) on Polygon, giving creators a new way to engage with and monetize their fan communities and other areas of interest
As an approach to scaling blockchains, the “aggregated” category is brand new.
Union will connect to the AggLayer, enabling message-passing and token transfers between the AggLayer and Cosmos chains connected to IBC.
X Layer will also connect to the AggLayer, allowing the exchange giant's 50M+ users to connect to an aggregated blockchain environment that includes Polygon zkEVM and Astar zkEVM.
This post introduces a new mental model: Polygon is the first aggregated blockchain network

Astar zkEVM, built with Polygon CDK, integrates with AggLayer
Today, developers at Polygon Labs are releasing the next generation of the Polygon zkEVM prover, the Type 1. The Type 1 prover allows any existing EVM chain to become a ZK L2 and connect to the entire Polygon ecosystem via the Aggregation Layer.
The upgrade to POL has been initiated on Ethereum mainnet, after months of development, community consultation and a successful testnet launch. This is a milestone on the Polygon 2.0 journey toward building the Value Layer of the Internet.
Polygon CDK is an open source codebase for launching ZK-powered L2 chains for Ethereum, on demand. All chains deployed using Polygon CDK are interoperable, with automatic access to the unified liquidity of all Polygon chains, and one-click access to the entire liquidity of Ethereum. Core modularity means developers can use Polygon CDK to design networks according to their needs. Zero-knowledge proofs ensure cryptographic security and near-instant finality.
